Welcome to
Clarence Gardens Kindergarten is a government funded preschool for the Department of Education & Children's Services that provides high quality learning experiences for preschool children.
We are a part time kindergarten that operates from Monday to Wednesday, with a playgroup that runs each Friday. We are located in a quiet street surrounded by a lovely friendly neighborhood and community.
The kindergarten's feature is its expansive shady outdoor play area that has had many recent improvements including exciting challenging paths to follow, bridge to climb and small sensory garden areas to explore. There are veggie patches to dig in and the water course that is perfect for hot summer days.
We provide an educational, stimulating and dynamic play based program for four year old children that supports their inner wellbeing and cultural diversities.
The learning experiences that we offer are centered upon the needs and interests of the children and are planned using the curriculum "Becoming, Being and Belonging" the national Early Years Learning Framework.

Session Times
Early Entry:
Aboriginal children and children under the Guardianship of the Minister for Families & Communities are entitled to access preschool from three years of age. Children with additional needs such as a disability, developmental delay, non English speaking background or health conditions are also eligible.
Please contact staff to discuss your child's needs.
Pre-entry:
Pre-entry sessions are offered for children once a week, for the term prior to the beginning of kindergarten. This is a transition time for children to gain confidence and independence in the preschool environment whilst getting to know staff and the routine.
Pre-entry sessions are integrated into the kindergarten sessions on the following days.
Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 9.00am to 11.45am.
Preschool:
At Clarence Gardens Kindergarten most children attend a recommended one full day (2 sessions) and two mornings each week.
Two full days are offered (when available) to the older children in preparation for the longer days at school, as well as to working families in need.

Playgroup Information
Our Playgroup is run at the Kindergarten on Friday mornings between 9.30am and 11.30am and is for children from birth to five years of age.
Cost is $3.00 per visit or $20.00 per term plus Playgroup Insurance.
Our Playgroup is coordinated and run by parent volunteers. Parents supervise their own children at Playgroup and are responsible for packing up and leaving the Kindergarten neat and clean.
Activities include painting, drawing, puzzles, construction, dough, pasting, outside play, song time and special activities.
